A newsletter devoted to the idea that you have more power over your money than you realize

Welcome to Ask, Save, Earn — a new newsletter from me, Matt Schulz.

The idea behind this newsletter is simple: You have more power over your money than you realize. I’ve been saying it in media interviews for years, and this newsletter is the next step in my continuing quest to spread that message.

Who am I? I’m a nationally recognized personal finance expert whose job is to help people make smart decisions about their money. In my day job as a money expert with LendingTree, I’ve appeared on Good Morning America, the Today Show, CBS Evening News, CNBC and Fox Business. I’ve been quoted many times in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and USA Today as well as local TV stations, newspapers and radio stations from coast to coast — and a few international ones, too.

I’m also writing a book, to be published by Countryman Press, a division of W.W. Norton. More details to come on that!

In this newsletter, I’ll share some stories about the book-writing process and what happens behind the scenes of some of my TV interviews here, but the main focus of this newsletter isn’t me. It is you.

Here’s some more of what you’ll get when you subscribe to Ask, Save, Earn:

  • Helpful money tips, news and advice: I’ll share links, articles, podcasts and more from around the Internet that I think you’ll find useful. I’ll also share the things that I write for LendingTree and interviews I do that provide practical, actionable advice.

  • A chance to share your story: I’m writing the book, but it isn’t just about me. The more voices, the better. And the more diverse that group of voices, the better. Occasionally, I’ll reach out to my subscribers to find out what they have to say and what we might be able to learn from them.

  • And the chance to be among the very first to know when my book is ready to buy! Spoiler alert: It’s going to be a while. These things take time.

Here at Ask, Save, Earn, you’re going to learn a lot about money, get some behind-the-scenes glimpses into the world of TV news and book publishing, and have some fun along the way. I’d love it if you’d join me.
