Hi, my friend!
After nearly two years of work, "Ask Questions, Save Money, Make More: How To Take Control Of Your Financial Life" is now available in bookstores around the country and most anywhere you buy books online. It's still a little surreal to me, but I'm enormously proud of it.
The response has been amazing! Amazon even designated it a "Top New Release" shortly after it launched.
If you haven't bought it, I'd be honored if you would. If you have bought it, consider leaving a review on the site where you bought it and on Goodreads. Those things really help.
Win an autographed copy!
Also, on April 1, 2024, I'm going to draw three names from my subscriber list and those lucky folks will get a copy of the book autographed by me. Plus, if you DM or email me proof at mattschulzwrites@gmail.com that you've bought a copy of my book, you'll get another entry into the contest. (If you win, just keep the autographed copy for yourself and pass the copy you bought on to someone else who would enjoy it.)
[Update: The contest is over. Thanks to all who entered!]
The inspiration for the book
All of this excitement was inspired by one single piece of data: More than 70% of people who ask for a lower interest rate on their credit card get one. I've mentioned that more times than I can count in interviews over the years and so often the reaction I get from the podcaster, writer, producer, whoever is just disbelief.
"What? That's wild! Is that right? Why don't people talk about that more?"
It is true. And it doesn't just happen in good times or bad times. It isn't just people with great credit or crummy credit who get help. That success rate means that all sorts of people in all sorts of situations can get their way.
It's rare when more than a few weeks go by in which I don't get a reaction like that to that number. The frequency of that response -- and the fact that there are so many examples like that in personal finance and in life in general -- made me realize that I was on to something.
The big idea
You have way more power over your money than you realize. "Ask Questions, Save Money, Make More" is devoted to spreading that idea and offering people simple, practical advice on how to wield that power. (It even has scripts to help you negotiate that lower credit card interest rate.)
Check it out for yourself, and let me know your success stories.
Thank you!
Matt
